What is iontophoresis

Tap water iontophoresis is a treatment for hyperhidrosis. It works by passing a weak electrical current through the hands or feet. During the treatment process, the hands or feet are placed in a shallow container, often a plastic briefcase, that is filled with tap water while a mild electrical current is sent through the water and through the surface of the skin. The benefits of this treatment method are long-term and there are no serious side effects.
